When Johnny Cash Got His Moose is a new movie about how a 1961 Newfoundland moose hunt led to Johnny and June. Newly discovered photos and new interviews tell the remarkable story of the 1961 Canadian moose hunt and concert tour that put Johnny Cash with June Carter and took both to superstardom.
A new Johnny Cash live album, recorded in San Francisco in 1968 by famed taper and audio engineer Owsley Stanley, is set for release September 24th via the Owsley Stanley Foundation and Renew Records/BMG. Johnny Cash, At the Carousel Ballroom, April 24th, 1968 finds the country legend performing in the heart of Haight-Ashbury, and the performance has been teased with Cash’s rendition of “I’m Going to Memphis.”
The Bootleg Series Vol. 15: Travelin’ Thru’ will be released on November 1, 2019.
The latest chapter in Columbia/Legacy’s highly acclaimed Bob Dylan Bootleg Series revisits Dylan’s pivotal musical journeys to Nashville, from 1967 to 1969, focusing on previously unavailable recordings made with Johnny Cash and unreleased tracks from the John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline, and Self Portrait sessions.
